2021.11.19 3D printing ep. 1
Purchased a 200$ Creality Ender 3. Had no idea these things were that cheap... I would have bought one a long time ago.
Setup took 1h15m with just me and Eric. We filmed the whole thing, maybe will splice and upload to youtube at some point.
Here are some poorly cropped screenshots of the film. It was very easy. We were probably confused only for like, 5 minutes of the 1:15. Not going to lie, the Creality people are a genius.
Here's a shot of me with the final product!! Isn't he cute =3? His name is Edward. (Uh, please ignore the booze in the background hehe)
Also funny is that the Ender 3 platform clips are literal small binder clips.
Edward came with some preloaded prints. One of them was a cat, so we obviously printed that one.
He's a bit squeaky but sometimes can be rhythmically kinda nice.
Let it be known that the Ender 3 does not actually come with enough filament to print a whole preloaded cat >=(... We had to pause for two days and buy more filament (which unfortunately ended up being silver instead of white) to finish the cat.
Also in the process of removing the cat from Edward, I cut my thumb 3 times without noticing.
Here's a glamour shot of Ed printing some additional parts. We're printing a videogame prop right now that is anticipated to take 90h printing total.
I also started making some adjustments to the models using tinkercad.com
